Today is Halloween! I am wearing my dinosaur costume with a long tail and spiky back. Dad and I have a big bowl of candy by the front door. Soon, children will come to our house to trick-or-treat.

2

The doorbell will ring when someone comes to our house. When I hear the doorbell go 'ding-dong,' it means children are outside waiting. I can open the door and see them because they want candy.

3

Sometimes children knock on the door with their knuckles instead of ringing the doorbell. Both the doorbell sound and the knock-knock sound mean the same thing—someone is here for candy!

4

When I hear the doorbell or knock, I can help Dad open the door. I will see children dressed in costumes, just like my dinosaur costume! They will say 'trick or treat' because they are asking for candy.

5

I can reach into the candy bowl and give one piece of candy to each child. I hand them the candy because they came to our house in their costumes. This makes them happy!

6

After I give them candy, they say 'thank you' and walk to the next house. More children will come to our door. Each time the doorbell rings or I hear a knock, I know it is time to give out more candy!

7

Halloween is fun! I get to wear my dinosaur costume and help Dad give candy to all the children who come to our door. When the doorbell rings or I hear a knock, I know what to do.
